We are in the era of fashion where trends and fast fashion are highlighting the shape of the Hourglass. And we love that for Hourglass bodies, but what should the ladies wear when they are not an Hourglass? There are so many different glorious body shapes and sizes, so here we’re going to discuss the styles that praise them all.

Today we are discussing: The Apple Body Type.

Apple-shaped bodies make up 12% of women. One thing that can be so frustrating in the fashion industry is that this body type is typically forgotten or ignored! When scrolling through any clothing app that caters to a variety of sizes, this figure is hard for me to spot on the models. But considering it is close behind the inverted triangle and ahead of the hourglass, you would think they’d have more representation.

No worries, I’ll be happy to show these beautiful bodies love. Step into my office, Queens.

Key Points for an Apple Body:

Average to big bust

Fuller Midsection

Wider shoulder line

Little to no waist definition

Usually flatter bottom

There are so many options for styling this beautiful shape. All there is to it is finding what you love most out of the wide variety of styles to choose from. It’s all about balancing your proportions and finding structure, patterns, and shapes that will bring comfort and flow with the natural body.

A nice classic suit jacket with beautiful fabric but made into a dress? Yes, please! Don't be afraid to modernize the jacket with beautiful fabrics, colors, and accessories.

Wrap jackets, with tie belts or even wide belts, are an excellent choice for this body as they bring definition to the waist. Don’t forget, a high-waist straight-leg or wide-leg pant also creates balance and length to the body.

V-neck tops or bodices add length to the torso.

Skirts don’t have to end at the knee or ankles; feel free to take it up a notch with an asymmetrical skirt, a floor-length skirt, or mid-calf skirt.

The geometrics that go into creating corset designs accentuate the natural body, giving shape and lines for the eye to follow. Along with stripes and other patterns that allude to vertical and diagonal lines, have fun making the eyes follow the lines.

When it comes to wearing more fitted attire, you want the garment to flow over the body, not necessarily cling to it. Softer and sleek fabrics or more structured garments avoid bulk, allowing everything to lay smoothly over the curves of the body. Play with both hard and soft elements to add flair to your outfits, and don't forget colors!

The options are out there, whether you are looking for more formal attire, something for a date night, a day with your girls, or something to wear to the office. It’s all about your comfort level, what you love, your style, and most importantly, what makes you feel beautiful!
